I have seen Dr Maarouf 4 times now and i have no intention of seeing any other Dr if at all possible , after having problems with my Diabetes for 6 years Dr Maarouf was able to Change my medication to suit my needs and way of life and have my blood sugars controlled within 2 Visits . Dr Maarouf listened to what i had to say ,even faced toward me and was able to put me at ease within seconds of meeting him , he is polite and engaging and i was able to understand everything he had to explain to me .Besides my Diabetes he has helped me also with another 2 problems i have, and could not get help for from my previous Dr . I would recommend Dr Maarouf in a heartbeat as i believe he is a Dr that patients need and deserve . Truly a wonderful Dr .

Following a decline in my mental health I was rendered unable to function on a daily basis. I was unable to attend work and seldom was my interaction with close family. Paranoia and audible hallucinations meant my sleep pattern was on average around two hours a night. Although the mental health trust prescribed my medication, it was Dr Maarouf who carefully walked me through the recovery process. His attention to detail and willingness to listen was instrumental in my recovery. Dr Maarouf has restored my faith in Doctors and has also allowed me to once again integrate with people on a daily basis. Well done, keep up the good work!!

Profile

I trained at Birmingham University and qualified as a doctor in 2006. After completing my foundation training in various hospital specialities, I undertook further training in general practice within the Black Country area and successfully gained membership to the Royal College of General Practitioners as well as the Royal College of Physicians.

After a few years as a portfolio GP (working in diabetes and more recently a hospital practitioner in endocrine medicine), I decided to further sub-specialise and am currently a specialist registrar in Chemical Pathology/Metabolic Medicine under Health Education West Midlands.

I still work as a GP in order to maintain my skills and competencies and like to think I am pretty adept at addressing patient concerns and expectations from the outset. This is hopefully reflected in my patient feedback but all experiences (whether good or bad!) are welcome.
